If you’ve been around for a while, you probably know I’ve been blogging for a long time. I started my first official blog back in 2009. And when I say “official,” I mean that I treated it like a business from the very first day it launched. Prior to that, the only blogs I had were LiveJournal accounts where I ranted about my day and talked about the boys I liked. (LOL!)
But over these years, I’ve come to realize that blogging is an amazing way to build your presence online. In fact, I feel it’s instrumental in growing your coaching business.
Now, I do want to clarify that blogging isn’t for everyone. Some people are much better suited for YouTube or podcasting. The point is, consistent content creation is amazing for establishing your brand and attracting your target clients. Today though, I’m focusing specifically on the benefits blogging can provide.
Growing Your Coaching Business Through Blogging
So, what makes blogging so special? Well, I’ll tell you! And I hope this inspires you to start blogging or get back to publishing content on the blog you already have. (The blogging statistics in this post might help convince you as well!)
1. Consistent Content Creation is Great for Attracting Clients
When you’re focused on growing your coaching business, you obviously need to attract people to you. You need them to find your website, your social media accounts, etc. Because if they don’t discover you, there’s absolutely no way they can book you for coaching.
And blogging is a really great way to draw people in. When you’re regularly posting new content, you can share that and bring people to your site. That’s where they’ll see your coaching packages. Plus, getting your content to rank organically in search results can bring in a ton of new people as well. Just think of every blog you publish as a way of attracting new people.
2. Use Your Blog to Showcase Your Expertise
Guess what? You have some amazing skills and knowledge to share with the world. And you should be showing that off through your blog content! The posts you publish can share all sorts of tips and tricks that you’ve learned over the years that you know would be beneficial for your target audience.
By sharing what you know, it helps to build your authority within your field. And when people see you as an authority, it helps to establish trust. Then, they’ll be more likely to book your services. That’s why blogging is amazing for growing your coaching business! You never know which blog post might convert a regular reader into a paying client. (Cha-ching!)
3. But Don’t Worry About Giving Away Too Much
When it comes to free content, a lot of business owners get worried about just how much they’re putting out there. If you give up all the juicy deets, will people still want to work with you? Well, I’m here to tell you that answer is YES.
There’s a huge difference between simply consuming content and working one-on-one with an experienced coach. When you have a coach by your side, you get so much additional support that’s tailored to you and that sense of accountability.
No matter how much you’re sharing online, people will still be drawn to working with you. People will still want access to you because of what you have to offer. And your blog will help draw them in and get them to take that next step of booking your services.
4. It’s a Great Way to Foster Relationships
When starting any kind of business, it’s important that you prioritize the Know, Like, and Trust Factor. That first step of getting to know you is crucial and this is where your blog comes in handy. People can get introduced to you through your blog, as I shared above. And through your content and your storytelling, they can get to know you a little better.
Plus, the comments section is an amazing way to kickstart conversations with potential clients. The more you’re putting yourself out there, the better! So, encourage people to share their thoughts and ask questions. Just make sure you respond!
5. And Remember to Actually Promote Your Services
Don’t get so caught up in creating blog content that you forget to tell people about the amazing services you have. After all, keeping quiet is no way of growing your coaching business! You need to proudly share your offerings with the world so they can take that next step and purchase. Never expect people to find your services on their own. SHARE THEM!
A simple call to action at the end of a blog post can be so effective in attracting clients. And it goes a little something like this… (Because I have to practice what I teach, right?)
